PREPARATION OF EMULSIONS

Typical standard emulsion (1000 litres)

Pre-mix 2.5 litres Neptune Jute Emulsifier 100N with 7.5 litres of water to make

10 litres 100N/water pre-mix

200 litres Mineral oil (spindle oil)

790 litres water

Apply 25% on long jute to obtain an oil content of 5%

Apply 30% to 35% on jute cuttings and kenaf

Typical stainless emulsion (1000 litres)

Pre-mix 2.5 litres Neptune Jute Emulsifier 100N with 7.5 litres of water to make

10 litres 100N/water pre-mix

50 litres Mineral oil (spindle oil)

940 litres water

Apply 20% on long jute to obtain an oil content of 1%

MIXING PROCEDURE

1. IT IS ESSENTIAL that the Neptune Jute Emulsifier 100N is Pre mixed with water before any oil is introduced. Allow any bubbles to escape before adding the oil.

2. Add the Mineral oil slowly to the 100N/water pre-mix ensuring that mixing is continuous.

3. When the Mineral oil and the 100N/water pre-mix have become a stiff "mayonnaise" the water may be added.
